In prisons, there are high levels of mental disorder and an
expanding population. It is an area of psychiatry where
psychiatrists may have limited clinical experience.

forensic and general adult psychiatry, although specialist skills
are useful, e.g. in intellectual disability.
This CPD module aims to provide an
introduction to prison and prison mental health services.
