Raj Persaud

Raj_PersaudAs part of the College's Podcast Editor Team, Raj Persaud commissions podcasts and conducts interviews for both CPD Online and the College website. Dr Persaud is a psychiatrist based in London and is a Gresham College emeritus visiting Professor for Public Understanding of Psychiatry. Amongst many academic honours he has the Royal College of Psychiatrist's Research Prize and Medal, The Belthlem and Maudsley Hospital's Denis Hill Prize and The Osler Medal. He worked as a research fellow at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in the USA and is Consultant Editor of The Mind: A Users Guide published with over 50 experts from the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Amy Manley

Amy Manley is a higher trainee in general adult psychiatry. She has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in medical education at the University of Dundee and holds a Masters in research from the University of Manchester. Her research interests are in the fields of liaison psychiatry and medical education. She is currently working with Raj Persaud and Peter Bruggen as Trainee Podcast Editor, producing podcasts for the Royal College of Psychiatrists. 

 


Ali Ajaz

Dr Ali AjazDr Ali Ajaz is a higher trainee in forensic psychiatry in London and also an honorary clinical lecturer in psychiatry at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University London. He has completed a fellowship in medical education at the North East London Foundation Trust and a postgraduate certificate in medical education at the University of Bedfordshire. He is a former CPD Online Podcast Editor for the Royal College of Psychiatrists and his research interests include mentally disordered offenders, cultural psychiatry and undergraduate teaching. 

 

 

 


Steven Moylan

Dr Steven MoylanSteven Moylan formerly worked as the College's Associate Podcast Editor, commissioning podcasts and conducting interviews for CPD Online. Dr Moylan is a psychiatric registrar with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and a clinical lecturer with Deakin University School of Medicine. He has wide ranging research interests with a focus on anxiety-based disorders.

 

 

 


Kamran Ahmed

Dr Kamran AhmedKamran Ahmed is an ST5 trainee in General Adult Psychiatry on the South London & Maudsley psychiatric training scheme. He was shortlisted for The Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Core Trainee of the Year Award in 2009. His research interests include cultural psychiatry, public education, medical education and depression in chronic illness.

 

 

 

 


Ovais Badat

Dr Ovais BadatOvais Badat is a consultant psychiatrist for the Specialised Adult ADHD Clinic in Bristol. He is also a general adult psychiatrist, and his research interests include healthcare leadership and the role of the voluntary sector. He facilitates business skills learning for doctors and works for the BBC as a member of the Grants Committee for Children in Need.

 

 

 

 


Margaret Murphy

Margaret Murphy is a child and adolescent psychiatrist based in Cambridge.

 


Paula Murphy

Paula Murphy works as a locum consultant forensic psychiatrist at St Andrews Healthcare in Northampton, and is studying for a Masters in Public Health/Health Services Management at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Dr Murphy's research interests include public mental health, policy analysis, medical leadership and management, and health economics.

 


Saliha Nazir

Saliha Nazir is a specialty doctor in forensic learning disability. She is a member of the Spirituality Special Interest Group and Management Special Interest Group at The Royal College of Psychiatrists. She has been working with mental health teams in India (Kashmir) to raise awareness and fight stigma related to mental illness. Her articles have been published in the British Medical Journal.
